Why is it Important to Have a Face to Face Meeting Early in Online Relationships?

People involved in online relationships know just how wonderful they can be.. For the most part they give both people in the relationship the opportunity to really ask questions and learn about the hopes, dreams, and inspirations of the other person in the relationship. However, despite all the sharing of information that is done in Internet or Cyber relationships, very few of them transition well into real world relationships.

That isn't to say that there aren't many who do. But, statistically speaking, most of the people who have had long-term online relationships and made the transition to real world relationships after a year or more of 'talking' online, have a much lower success rate than those who met early on in the 'cyber' relationship process.

It's more important than people tend to give it credit for. But it's also something you can't really see or feel online. You can feel interest. You can feel desire. But chemistry is something that's really hard to see when there are computer screens and miles of wires between the two of you.

You may not feel that looks are terribly important but whether or not the other person has been honest with you about how he or she looks is important. The sooner you know the truth of the situation the faster you'll be able to gauge what's really going on with the relationship and whether or not you wish to continue.

Finally, meeting sooner rather than later gives you something to build on. The connection can only grow that much stronger over time if you continue the relationship after meeting.
