What is the difference between happiness and joy?

CS Lewis was, "Surprised by Joy."

The Joy is something that is felt even when the circumstances around you are not "happy." Is internal and permanent. It is content being. Happiness is ususally on the basis of external circumstances, people and things …. and sometimes a temporary sense when the situation changes.
