Is there anywhere in the world where people are not getting dumber?

If you have not been offended already, look around you. Its EVERYWHERE. States USA: down the tubes. Europe long ago. South America. My God. Africa: All will be dead in 50 years at this rate. Japan: I have not seen nothing in the news, but if your TV, suicide rates and happiness index (study showed them at the third world for this) are any indication, they the appearance of the United States at this time. China is the only place where people appear to have any common sense anymore, but because they are Communists and do not allow much press I have no way of knowing. Philippines, incidentally, have gone crazy. Oh, of course. People in India have begun to poison the Ganges every year at a religious festival. Thousands are sick and die every time you do this.

Everywhere and nowhere. Nowhere in the world that is not tainted by human stupidity of antiquity. Human beings always have been so stupid, for example, religious traditions in India are probably thousands of years. You are also wrong about China, not much better then Japan, but in a different way. However, each nation has a population of intellectuals. The reason why this is not obvious, well, anywhere is because the ignorant tend to be stronger no matter where they are. On the other hand, the intellectuals and the educated, and tend to stay out of public eye. It always has been. You are mistaken in supposing that this is a temporary phenomenon or new, is literally a human tendency. Our civilization has always been, and will always be stupid.
