Happiness Butterfly

Do you think children should be protected from unhappiness?
children must be led to believe that life is care free and full happiness? Obviously we can not shelter forever, but at what age we do appreciate that life is not always rainbows and butterflies?
I do not know if could put an exact age to this question because I believe that children learn that life is not all rainbows and butterflies through the children out (through the aggressors, being insulted, do not get along with all children, in the absence of a class, be grounded, etc, etc,) and will depend on the child's maturity and personal growth as to what kind of conversation you would have with them the life of the not so glorious reality. However, lets face it they will find in any case and as parents we to help them cope and give them the tools to succeed not deter them from pursuing their dreams and ambitions, because life is hard, you just encourage work harder and build up the strength not of past mistakes and obstacles protect everything that can go wrong or that is wrong with society and life.
